This collection of mostly covers features Yo La Tengo's quiet side, re-creating them as folk aficionados capable of faithfully performing not only their own material but also pitch-perfect interpretations of classics such as Flamin' Groovies' "You Tore Me Down" and John Cale's "Andalucia." This is one of indie rock's great bands returning to its folk roots in a way that feels both reverent and innovative.
