Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album is rated in the top 2% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 79.8/100, a mean average of 79.4/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 80.1/100. The standard deviation for this album is 15.6.

I mean, it's okay. It has interesting things and some of the songs are great, but it's a collection of leftovers for a reason!
You know when a band is good when a compilation of leftovers released almost two decades prior is actually better than some alternative things that were fresh at the time.

This is a “lost” classic by the Velvets recorded prior to the self titled album. These songs have a looser surfer vibe to them and flow together quite well. A very worthy addition to their catalogue.

A great album of previously unreleased tracks. Better than Loaded in my opinion

Decent stuff, but not near as good as their other works

Logged as a compilation but how can a previously unreleased album of studio recordings be a compilation? Really good anyways. Possibly better than loaded but not the first 3.
For the fan who has everything.
I really enjoyed the first half of this thing. The other half was ok. Overall a decent collection of songs but I don't think I'll be returning to it.
Excellent collection of unreleased gems that did indeed come out in 1984. It does hang together well as a cohesive whole much as there studio albums did. Some made a cameo appearance on early Lou Reed solo recordings.
