Rating metrics: Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)

This album is rated in the top 5% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 76.2/100, a mean average of 75.8/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 76.4/100. The standard deviation for this album is 15.9.

Much better than Actually, as they have more compelling musical ideas here and have involved more musicians in the process, such as guitar players and backing singers. The percussion and the songs also impressed me. The music is very well put together.

A satisfactory synthpop album with artsy flourishes. Being Boring is gorgeous.

Another decent Pet shop boys album. Not as great as, Actually, but still a good record although none of the tracks are up there with their iconic tracks of the eighties. Still, good LP.

Very good album. Best 10 songs average is 87,5/100 and the album can get very good 90/100. Two strong standouts on this record: "So hard" 100/100 and "Being boring" 95/100. Next is "How can you expect..." and "Jealousy" both 85/100. All other songs only just good 80/100.
Genre: Synthpop, Dance-Pop

The Boys clearly enjoy being more aloof than ever whilst making some seriously good pop music.
