Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album has a Bayesian average rating of 72.9/100, a mean average of 73.2/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 73.2/100. The standard deviation for this album is 12.7.

I think this is the most underrated album in the Sloan discography. This is probably their second best effort after Navy Blues.
In order to fully appreciate it, you have to understand that this album is meant to be listened to in a whole. This is not your typical album where you go from one hit to another. Each song is best served if listened where it is meant to be, in the context of the whole album. Still, there is a gigantic amount of hits in this album. Great from start to finish, NHTEOI will always have a special place in my heart because that's the album that made me fully realize the genius of Sloan, one of the greatest band ever.
Favorite tracks are too many to list, but "Fading Into Obscurity" and "Ill Placed Trust" are definitely worthy of mention.
Best Tracks: Fading Into Obscurity, I Can't Sleep
Never Hear the End of It consists of 30 tracks that mostly flow into each other like a suite, showcasing a wide variety of styles and featuring each of Sloan's four members on lead vocals. The influences on this Halifax, Nova Scotia, band range from mid-period Beatles to Sid Barrett-era Pink Floyd, and the results are stunning. My favorite track here is the playful yet defiant "People Think They Know Me," which perfectly encapsulates the relationship we all have, to some degree, with our favorite performers: "People think they know me, but they don't / People think they love me, but they don't."
Another good alt-pop album from Sloan. Best track: Who Taught You To Live Like That?
By this point, Sloan knew what they were doing, and did it well... It's just there's nothing really new or exciting on this album.
