Rating metrics: Help Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)

This album is rated in the top 25% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 73.5/100, a mean average of 72.7/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 73.5/100. The standard deviation for this album is 14.7.

My favorite Chilli's album. More oomph, less commercial. More rock, fuck all filler. A great album all round

Higher Ground is awesome, the rest of the album is rock solid.

This where they became a force in the music world. Their energy and original sound was evident throughout. I love the use of sweet child of mine riff on punk rock classic and how Pretty Little Ditty was sampled later on.

One of my favourite Red Hot Chili Peppers albums. Mothers milk, the first LP to feature the 'classic' Chili's line up, is probably the most 'metal' sounding of their LP's. Released at the height of the metal era, it works on that score, but certainly is funky too. Best tracks are, good time boys, knock me down, and, taste the pain. A great party album.

Any Pepper album with Frusciante is better than an album without. So Mother's Milk lands 5th in their catalogue for me. This is a band still figuring out their identity with the wrong producer that wants their sound heavier than it should be.

This album hits and misses as they search for what they want their band to be but promise is all over this considering what is to come.

Frusciante shreds here more than other albums, a nice change of pace.

But it doesn't hold a candle to their four best records

The bass work on stone cold bush is absolutely amazing. The beginning of RHCP awesomeness. John and Chad might as well be a restart for this band, something just clicks so much better and is amazing. While some of it might be considered filler, for the Chili Peppers it isn't, it is just having fun.
