The first two tracks sound like Dire Straits not taking themselves so seriously, track three a touch of REM about it, track 4's a bit shit (and I like cats!), track 5 has a Talking Heads rhythm to it (not such a high quality vocal). Side two starts off with a decent couple of tracks, then quite different sounding tracks 8 (American XTC) and 9 which i enjoy (although track 9 tales off a bit). Track 10 has a bit of a C&W fell and lyric. Bought on vinyl, cheap, because of the hit single (Track 1) and to be fair that is the highlight of the album. All in all a decent album but of this kind of style and year give me the Rainmakers debut album every time.
