Rating metrics: Help Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)

This album is rated in the top 4% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 76.7/100, a mean average of 75.5/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 77.0/100. The standard deviation for this album is 15.0.

One of the more underrated albums of the 70s hard rock genre. The A-side is brilliant.
Best song(s): Soldier of Fortune; Bad Reputation; Opium Trail; Southbound; Dancing in the Moonlight; Downtown Sundown

Although it was a dizzying time for the band, that was temporarily transformed into a trio, they managed to make a very genuine and consistent record. One of their best.

Good album. Bit slow in places but overall a decent listen. Not there best, but in no way at the lower end of the scale

Other albums have higher highs for me, but through the ones I've listened to, this is the most consistently good Thin Lizzy album. Great band.

My favorite Lizzy album. It's not completely perfect, but I can't help but absolutely love it. Lynott's personality has never been better, and that goes along with the fantastic songwriting and instrumental work.

Best track - Either "Bad Reputation", "Opium Trail", or "Killer Without a Cause".

Thin Lizzy is so cool. Their albums just make you feel good. This album is so anthemic. I love how the songs make you feel like Phil is right by your side and laughing with you.

Slightly disappointing for me on first listen, but then I listened to it at a loud volume and felt it's power. An energetic and passionate album from Lizzy with a brilliant title track. In their top three.
