I stumbled upon this album recently and gave it a shot for the first time, with the lowest expectations I could have had. After all, for me, Treble Charger was the band that gave us "American Psycho" and "Hundred Million", so for me they were just another early 2000's pop-punk band. Turns out, they're not just that.

"Maybe It's Me" is definitely not a pop-punk album like the two albums they went on to produce after. Instead, what we have here is a very nice offering that contains many great pop songs, and is pretty diverse. There are 2 primary singer-songwriters in Treble Charger, Greig Nori and Bill Priddle. Greig Nori is the guy responsible for the more straight-ahead punk-rock songs, like the hits that we know from the early 00's. On the other end, the songs written by Bill are much more subtle and inspiring, at least to my ear. His songwriting is really what makes this album pretty good, something I really didn't expect coming in. I also really like Bill's voice.

I came in expecting to hear candy pop-punk à la early Sum 41 or Simple Plan, but instead, what I heard was solid power pop, with hints of Oasis, Fountains Of Wayne, Weezer and even My Bloody Valentine. A very pleasant surprise!

Standout tracks (all Bill's):
Stupid Thing To Say
Christ Is On The Lawn
Left Feeling Odd

Not bad, but these guys are better when they let loose. Too many sappy ones on this album.
