The first two tracks are great, and Foc has since become a live staple. 30 de Marzo shows them at their slowest and most emotional, and Paris plays with more percussion than anything they did after. For their least-known album it's surprisingly good, but every album since has surpassed it.
Most notable in this album is the extensive use of violin. Nothing is as brilliant as the fantastic solo on Ixtapa, but it's less rare here than on other releases. And both guitarists are as virtuosic as ever. Plus, it's no question that they poured everything they had emotionally into this release, but the fantastic songwriting would come later.
In short, well worth the purchase for any fan of the duo. But if you're new to them, pick up 11:11 or their self-titled first.
