There's nothing like it when a band delivers a strong second album following a promising debut. Like Depeche Mode and the Pet Shop Boys before them, Hurts continue to push the boundaries of what you can do with contemporary pop music with an almost subversive, perverse glee. One of the albums of the year has arrived.
