Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. Finally found a Russian band I can relate to. I grew up on Soviet folk songs and the CRINGY Russian blues-rock that is Grigory Leps, and have always felt an apprehension towards any Russian music as a result. This art-folk, experimental, prog rock album broke down a lot of this for me. Great listen.

Ptiza (Bird) by Auktyon is the best russian album of all times, and this band is one of very few russian groups, who can compete with non-russian music as equals. The band's music is a mix of avant-prog, jazz/fusion and folk motives. Complicated fast rhythms, big variety of instruments, genious lyrics. Lucky is the one who understands it.
