Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album is rated in the top 3% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 77.2/100, a mean average of 76.4/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 77.4/100. The standard deviation for this album is 14.0.

It's wonderful! Listened to it for the first time on a late night walk and it gave me chills. I've been hooked on this lovely band ever since.
Sugar Hiccup and In My Angelhood are possibly my two favourite Cocteau's songs

this is my favorite CT album, with Heaven Or Las Vegas as a close second. one of the things i like about this one is that it serves as a transition point between their earlier goth influences (as on Garlands) and the shimmery dream-pop of their later work.
A masterpiece in dream pop. The classic album to float away on.
Musette & Drums and Sugar Hiccup are the highlights
Sugar Hiccup.
I really like this a lot for its darkness. However I can understand why more ppl prefer Treasure and Heaven or Las Vegas, me myself included. I can't really tell which one of the three I love more. It just depends on the everyday mood I'm in.
Treasure is more like a dark and gloomy dream with hopes for the sunlight. Heaven is sweet and consistently fluent like a water flow. But this one is a journey through the endless hell.
That being said, I probably wouldn't like this everyday while I could like Treasure and Heaven everyday, but it's really good, and not pretentious at all, unlike some other underground independent music.
Come on people! This album needs more love here!
