Overall, this is a better album than the debut, but doesn't reach the peak of tracks like "hold on" and "some children". Most songs have definite hooks and are thoughtfully planned out. This IDM/pop album's more polished, more accomplished. The closest they come to their past hits are the long-player "dumb disco ideas" and thorouhly-fun jam "bridge and tunnel" (possibly the best danceable nyc dedication since interpol's "nyc"). There's only one misstep, "edgar", and i shouldn't really fault them for this segue-like track, but it's such a momentum-staller that i take it into consideration. But if you can overlook that and like poppy dance music, look to holy ghost!
