Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album has a Bayesian average rating of 70.9/100, a mean average of 70.0/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 70.0/100. The standard deviation for this album is 12.2.

Although I liked Deltron 3030's self-titled debut very much--I'd probably rate it one of my three favorite hip hop albums of all time--I didn't pay much attention to this album when it was released. Only over a number of years have I gradually started listening to it more, and although I still think their first album is vastly superior to this one, I've come to appreciate this long-waited follow-up as a fine album in its own right. My favorite moment is the strange anthem "Deltron Is Our Hero," a rare track on which Dan the Automator takes center stage rather than usual MC Del the Funky Homosapien. It might be a bit of a minor track were it on their self-titled album, but here it highlights another character in the band, an appealingly awkward stage presence who deserves attention for his musicianship and creativity.
Agreed that this is a decent follow-up but not up to the high bar set by the original.
Famed chef David Chang actually make a solid point during his skit that despite all the food possibilities available in the year 3040, all people want is beet salads and pork rinds. Maybe this album could have used more beet salads and pork rinds.
It's been over a decade since we've be graced with a new release from Deltron Zero and Automator, and they certainly seemed to have improved their celebrity popularity in the meantime. The album kicks off with a Star Wars-esque crawl read from none other than Joseph Gordon-Levitt. Other celebrity cameos include David Cross, Zack de la Rocha, and Mary Elizabeth Winstead. The problem is that despite all these famous voices, the front half of the album sounds very similar and it's almost a chore to get through it. I have no idea why the first music track is six and a half minutes long. It really doesn't need to be. On the bright side the second half of the album, starting with the wonderful Look Across the Sky and including What is This Loneliness and City Rising From Ashes, really picks up the slack for the lackluster beginning.
All in all, I'll probably warm up to the whole album in time, but seeing as this was my most anticipated album in a long time, this is something of a letdown.
An enjoyable follow up to the debut, but nothing particularly outstanding. The second half of the album is much stronger than the first, though the production is great throughout. I was pretty pleased with all of the guest features and the skits were amusing as well.
