Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A fine live album from FREE. As usual, many banas from 70¨s sounded better and heavier live than on their studio albums
Four extremely idiosyncratic musicians come together to form one unbeatable whole. They're all so unique. Fraser's syncopated and largely improvised bass playing; Rodgers' characteristic phrasing where he adds like 40 notes onto the end of every line; Kirk's uber-sparse and slightly rigid drumming; and Kossoff whose tone is so amazing he can hold onto one note forever and still be spellbinding. They never sounded better then they do here. Without the restrictions of the recording studio they really let loose and play with more drama and passion than just about any band I've ever heard.
