Rating metrics: Help Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)

This album is rated in the top 10% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 74.7/100, a mean average of 73.2/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 74.8/100. The standard deviation for this album is 18.3.

Half of the tracks are great (the well-known ones/singles - Fire, Underdog, Vlad the Impaler, Fast Fuse) but the rest of the album tracks mostly offer nothing, except for Happiness and Secret Alphabets. Not consistent enough unfortunately. (Edited)

Solid album with no weak tracks. They have a great talent at creating rhythm to make you groove within their songs. Great album. One of their better.

The first four tracks are outstanding. Tails off somewhat in the 2nd half of the album but still some highlights to keep you interested, fire for example. All told, an excellent album

Astounded that any Kasabian album is in the top 10 for a year on BEA, but this is by far their best release.

Looking to discover great music from 2009 I naturally checked out this highly rated album from that year. And the verdict? It’s good! . Really good! . Of course I knew Underdog and Fire (who doesn’t ?) but the rest of the album blew me away with how awesome it is . I listened to it on a recent long drive and as soon as the final track finished I went back to track 1 and started again, I very rarely do that. In 2009 I somehow completely missed this album & I am so glad that 8 years later it’s on my radar. So do yourself a favour if you haven’t heard this album make sure you do.

I really like this album. It's their best. At first it seems like just cool rock music but then you hear the synth parts in the middle of most songs and you see what makes Kasabian Kasabian.
Best tracks: Underdog, Where did all the Love go?, Fire
Worst track: Swarfiga

As good as their self titled debut album in many of the songs, but their debut has that special place in my heart. I do love every song and think the album songs are as good as the singles.

Favourite songs are probably: Fast Fuse, Underdog and Where Did All The Love Go?

Starts out with a lot of energy that carries through the first four or so songs. The second half feels a little less organized but is mostly good nonetheless.

This album is really good, it starts with a bang with Underdog, WDATLG? and Fast Fuse, all fantastic songs. Take Aim, Thick as Thieves, Vlad the Impaler are all pretty good too, and of course Fire is the killer track.

Some weak tracks like West Ryder Silver Bullet and Secret Alphabets, but other than that, this album is very recommendable, nothing revolutionary (it's Kasabian, after all), but super enjoyable, which is what music is about after all
