Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album has a Bayesian average rating of 70.4/100, a mean average of 69.6/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 69.6/100. The standard deviation for this album is 16.7.

I can’t blame her for following the EDM sound, since you can’t go make ‘00s music in the ‘10s, but it sure as hell sounds a lot worse than her older stuff. You can clearly hear a sudden incline in quality on “I was Gonna Cancel”, since it has a more ‘traditional’ synthpop production. The songwriting is solid though, the producers just fuck it up.
But I’m glad her sexy-ness returned on this album (AND HOW!), but sadly just on one song - who knew that dubstep (or brostep) could sound so sexual.
I know this is a very controversial opinion, but I think it's a return to form after the mediocre "Aphrodite". "Kiss Me Once" is a lot more sonically cohesive and focused, and as such the record really benefits from that. These dance-pop tracks feel like they have a layer of depth to them (just listen to lead single "Into The Blue" and how the producers have given the track time to breathe and stretch out whilst, you know, still being a banger). This solid album ends on a high note with the uplifting final track "Fine". Along with "Body Language", I think this is an underrated album from Kylie.
"Kiss Me Once" may have slightly disappointed commercially, but despite sticking to the typical 21st century Kylie formula of fun and airy disco/dance-pop, it's her best album in over a decade. With little to no filler, unlike her previous two albums, this is a stream of pure, effortless pop that glides right on by for 38 minutes.
One of her better efforts, and quite sadly one of her most ignored, but for a woman almost 30 years into her career making pop that outpaces her decades-younger competition, it's damn admirable.
