After the experimentation of Blue, 3EB returns with some standard rockers. I'm a huge 3EB fan so I think this album is great.
The only throw away is Self-Righteous and MAYBE Misfits.
Faster, Blinded, and Hit and Run are classics.
Company is excellent and the rest is very solid.
3EB lost a lot of fans after the spacey Blue and unfortunately never regained traction. They lost their original guitarist starting here and it wasn't a secret that lead singer/tyrant of the band Stephan Jenkins was hard to work with and isn't all that likeable.
He is interviewed as saying that "making it big" was never an aspiration of the band. They really enjoyed playing for small venues and locally from where they were from.
Jenkins voice also isn't all that great live as studio albums may lead you to believe.
Again, I love this band so I know my rankings are higher than the average. And ultimately, Jenkins got what he wanted for himself and the band; out of the spotlight starting here on Out of the Vein
"Everyone is so self righteous" is a highlight duet on this record. Makes me feel like they just had sex, and were still chilling in bed when one of them whipped it out, the guitar i mean, and decided to record this track on the spot.
