I absolutely love this Album. As a little girl I would listen to Billy Joel ALL the time, in fact he was probably more than 75% of what I listened to so picking my favorite album of his is extremely hard and my opinion changes on the daily. The majority of the time though, I will say the stranger. This album has such a beautiful mix of styles showing Billy's amazing skills at being able to write and be successful in any genre. The other album that is right up here with this one is 52nd street and by next week I might decided that I like that one more than The Stranger.

I LOVE this album.

I already explained that my opinion on Billy Joels best album is always changing...... but as of right now I would say the stranger is my favorite BUT this one is classic. I personally LOVE Zanzibar it is so well written and even though it's not really jazz it has such a jazz club feel to it that makes it so beautiful. Stiletto is up there too for a lot of the same reasons. Along with those masterpieces there are just some of Billy Joels most well known and loved songs like Honesty and My Life. Overall I just love this album and I could write a paragraph describing why I like each song.

I was not prepared emotionally for this album the first time I listened to it. It is so heart wrenching and I still get emotional every time I listen to it. If I'm being honest it took me a couple listens to fully appreciate what this album has to offer. First of all, the story it tells is so heart breaking and inspiring at the same time. It is also so relatable as we have all had either had a physical or even mental illnesses ourselves or we have been effected by them through our close loved ones who might have this trials. I especially love the song "Famous Last Words" it is so powerful, and although I could embellish more on why I love that song I feel like all I need to say is that, It's powerful.

I really enjoy this album although I like Death Cab in general this one just has all of my favorites in it. I recently saw them live and that started a whole knew passions for them so maybe in a couple months I'll have to move this album farther down the list, but as of right now I am obsessed. There was just something about seeing them live that made every song so much more meaningful and I haven't been able to listen to their songs the same way ever since.
