I don't like his voice, not a whole lot of variation actually and it gets boring real quick. It's ahead of its era for sure, and it's a shame that it never got the recognition it deserves. Back to Reality is a highlight. I'm just not so sure about the incessant narcissistic stuff, it's quite a put off. Some of the tracks are quite fierce indeed. I just think the instrumental basis behind the tracks aren't distinctive enough, while he seems to show some degree of flexibility in terms of topicality, there isn't much with regards to his actual delivery. I don't think that it being so overly intellectually demanding is really a good thing, I can't just put it on and groove out if I want to, it really demands a lot of brain space and gives me a headache the more I listen to it.
