Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album is rated in the top 12% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 74.6/100, a mean average of 74.5/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 74.8/100. The standard deviation for this album is 12.4.

Massive and a bit self-consciously draped in a melodramtic, exotic surface, Two Suns is a modern art-pop album with impressively crafted songs, often quite lovely and at times completely beguiling while also more than a bit ungainly and overwrought as a whole. It lacks the focus of her excellent debut, but Kahn does take her sound in some fascinating new directions even if she eventually burns out at the end. It's still an oft-beautiful record, even if Im not sure it really knows what it wants to say.
It's a polished amalgam of PJ Harvey, Kate Bush, and Siouxsie and the Banshees. Less jarring, better singing. This album has this orchestral lushness to it that I find extremely sedative.
"two suns" is dramatic and haunting and heartbreaking. Check opener "glass" or "pearl's dream" for the proof. The restless drums and the beautifully-tense vocals of Natasha Khan lay a backdrop only mastered well by goth-ish male bands of the 80s and 90s, a comparison Natasha lamented herself, but she should be proud she's kicking butt with songs like "daniel", inspired by the karate kid, that have only been formally conquered in full by men like morrissey and the cure and interpol, etc. "daniel" itself plays out like a dream sequence from a movie of unrequited love at the beach -- two lovers racing to each other in slow-motion on the beach, never actually reaching each other's embrace.
Nice vocalist! Good sense of song writing on the album and a pleasent mystical sound. Daniel is the best song.
quietly brilliant album.
