Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album is rated in the top 4% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 76.8/100, a mean average of 76.2/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 77.2/100. The standard deviation for this album is 13.1.

Dang. I had heard and enjoyed Poses but never went much further in the catalog. This album, which I am listening to for the first time in 2021, has completely blown me away. It's a masterpiece. Poses was good, but this is on another level.
A stunning album full of colour and invention. Want one, the follow up to, poses, is Rufus wainwright's best album. Every track is superb, from the Billy Joel-esque, I don't know what it is, to the beautiful but vitriolic, dinner at eight, from the epic, go or go ahead, to the excellent, vibrate. I could mention every song, it's all stunning, beautiful child, want, movies of myself, it's a brilliant record. Want one, is my favourite album ever, along with, Sgt. Pepper, and should be given more praise.
Beautifully crafted songs throughout.
The opening track is one of the best ever uses of a piece of classical music in a pop song. Ravel's Bolero in this case.
Thom Yorke: The Musical. Best songs: 14th Street and Beautiful Child.
A really underrated album. The entire thing from start to finish is just a masterpiece. Like originally the only album I had heard from him was Poses, then someone referred me to Want One and I had really no idea how talented this man really is.
