Rating metrics: Help Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)

This album has a Bayesian average rating of 69.2/100, a mean average of 68.1/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 69.0/100. The standard deviation for this album is 17.7.

This is my least favorite of the first three KISS records and it all comes down to the overly sanitized production. Neil Bogart and the band produced this and it just sounds too slick and clean. It needs more bite and rough edges. The songs are great...and half of them would get way improved on KISS Alive! "Getaway" is an Ace Frehley classic with great Peter vocals and the most ripping solo on the record...otherwise its about as convincing as the equally lacking LP cover. Never was a fan of that either...

Dressed to kill, Kiss' third album is a huge improvement on the disappointing, hotter than hell. As with most Kiss records there's always lots of filler, but there's some enjoyable tracks too in, rock bottom, c'mon and love me, and of course, rock and roll all nite, the classic Kiss anthem. Silly, but fun.

The best of the 3 albums prior to Alive. Childhood memories abound with this one. Didn't understand what Room Service was really about at the time. Baby I could use a meal.

How did this album get rated lower than the putrid Crazy Nights?

Meh... Kiss were fun. Play this too much and it gets tired quickly.
