Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album is rated in the top 2% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 78.2/100, a mean average of 77.5/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 78.4/100. The standard deviation for this album is 14.5.

An album that begins very strongly but slowly dwindles in quality as you approach the end of the record but the style and atmosphere is consistent throughout. It is a dark electro pop album and it fits that role brilliantly. Every song is very consistent with this style, making for a cohesive and smooth flowing record as it all blends together nicely. It is creepy and very gothic at times whilst still managing to create pop hooks that are infectious and keep us coming back for more. You do get quite an unusual feeling when listening to this album but it is one that I love and it also makes the record unique as some albums don't really move you at all. Her voice is fantastic as well but I do think it could be given more of a spotlight to shine at times as it is clouded by the auto tune a little. My one major criticism I find with the record is that the rest of the album seems to be devoid of that initial flare present on the opening two tracks. Both songs really captivate the listener and blow me away every time I hear them whereas most of the other tracks feel a bit subdued in comparison. While every other track is still reasonably good, they just don't have the same effect on me. Overall, a good album that is consistent in atmosphere and it really leaves you satisfied due to its level of cohesiveness but there is still a lot of room to improve and build upon.

O tom sombrio é excelente! Grande clima para o álbum!

Finding this album is one of the reasons I love this site. I've found lots of really good albums towards the back half of the top 1000, and this is definitely one of them. Very dark. Many of the comments through here describing the album as "tribal" are apt, and you can physically feel the drum beats that drive the music in every song.
A great slab of dark electropop filled with the manifestation of anxiety and postnatal depression. The lyricism is eccentric but has depth, the vocals are great, no matter how they're distorted, and the production is bang on. A great record.
I can definitely see the appeal to those who like this.
"dark" "creepy" "tribal" are words used by other contributors here that I'd agree with. To me it is the second best album of the Dreijer siblings (after silent shout).

This album is like the dark tale of a little girl who's being haunted by the boogeyman. Eerie and creepy, in the best possible way. I love it.

A haunting and strong dark piece of art. Really enjoyed it.

I had a great time listening to it.
Some songs are really expressing like "When i grow Up" or "seven". This album still has a lot of different instruments that when played in harmony produce great songs.creativity they have to know when and how to use these instruments is inspiring. Starting with the simplest, until evolve the more complex
I really enjoyed, even that some songs looked similar. but it may be just my mind, that is not comfortable with this music genius.
