Features a few tracks that would slot easily into any Black Keys album. But what makes this a true solo affair is that Auerbach allows more of his influences to shine through. There's the rock, but with more the blues background pushed to the fore. But there's some folk, too. Hell, there's even some gospel flavor mixed in.

If you like the Black Keys you've got to hear this. If you don't maybe you should check this out for perspective on what this guy does with the rest of his time. It's different enough, at times, that it might win him a few new fans.

Awesome solo album that you don't hear about too much. Whispered Words is one of the best songs Dan Auerbach has ever written. Similar to The Black Keys, sure, but there's nothing wrong with that.
