Wishbone Ash tries acoustic! It's okay, but I prefer most of the original electric versions.

Wishbone Ash is obviously best known for its powerful dual electric guitar attack that they've been able to keep fresh and exciting for 50 years. So a totally acoustic album right in the middle of that run comes as a bit surprising. But give credit to Wishbone Ash, they are constantly able to take on different musical approaches and make it work. No, this doesn't compare with Argus or There's the Rub or any of those classics, but this is a nice, relaxing album to put on every once in a while to decompress. Seven of the 11 songs are remakes of old classics, which range from being great renditions (Wings of Desire, Strange Affair) to good but incomparable to the original electric version (Master of Disguise, Living Proof). As for the four new songs in the middle of the track list, they're all pretty solid. I think the country-infused Baby Don't Mind is my favorite of the bunch. Yes, a Wishbone Ash country song! These guys can do it all.
