Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. Some of their best work here. Minerva is probably my favourite Deftones song, Hexagram is great too. Even the quieter Lucky You still works.
Hexagram ~ Needles And Pins is one of the best 1-2 punches ever.

Minerva is the best thing they've ever done!
a very dark ablum. can't top "white pony" because there are some songs i skip... "deathblow" and "good morning beautiful." Some of deftones best songs are on the album. "hexagram" "minerva" and "battle-axe" are my favorites
