Red House Painters' most tender and bare record, Ocean Beach showcases some of Kozelek's most captivating songwriting, in a record that showcases both pain and beauty. Perhaps the most overlooked album of the 90s.

My second RHP favourite album, a must listen to everybody who likes folk and sad music...

A lonely carriage ride through the park in the fall.
This was my first exposure to RHP, and it took awhile for the album to grow on me, but once it did I never let go. I think "Shadows" is one of the band's most depressing songs to date, and the rest of the album can be equally depressing, but comforting at the same time.
