Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).

Very nice selection of prog-rock masters.
Very good ProgRock list: I don't like Radiohead... so 85/100
Good lists of mainly good to amazing prog-rock. The Dark Side of the Moon and Selling England by the Pound are my 1&2 aswell. I'm not as big on Yes' Close to the Edge though. Argus looks pretty interesting. I should check it out sometime.

I am not the biggest fan of progrock, but I do like alot of your choices, I adore Pink floyd
Now that you mention it, I guess Radiohead is Progressive Rock sometimes. They don't have the classic Prog sound, like the Mars Volta does, but they have the same agenda I guess.
