ELO takes you on a journey to Eldorado to explore your dreams. It's the album that made ELO worthy of notice, for the first time with a real orchestra.

The volume is still turned to max, but there's also been given space to the softer side of Slade. Yes, Slade still rock like no other, but the sentimental ballads here are the highlights. "When the Lights are Out" is Slade at their most beatlesque!

Whatever gets you thru the night, it's alright! There's a feeling of that to it. The dreamier tracks, in particular "#9 Dream" obviously, compensate the rockier moments. A very balanced effort by John Lennon.

Country fair with Van Morrison. Pastoral, enchanting and passionate, this very album can do nothing but comfort you! One of his most lovely albums, that's for sure.

Starless, red nightmare. King Crimson make what's possibly their darkest and heaviest album with some long-drawn experimental jams thrown in. Not their easiest record to digest!

Introducing the first killer Queen song, "Killer Queen", you start to sense that Queen are in the lap of the gods when it comes to music. Like previous "Queen II", it's quite progressive, but more fragmented and diverse, yet it's more than the sum of its parts.

Easily Slade at their glammest. The rockers are flaming and the ballads are incredibly Beatlesque. A Slade totally on fire with this career peak of an album!
Favourite tracks: "How Does It Feel?" & "Far Far Away" [First added to this chart: 02/03/2014]

George Harrison's "Dark Hoarse" as it's been dubbed because of his hoarse voice on this particular album. Not as spiritual as his previous two, but still quite soulful and at times so sad. However, it's not dark all the way. "Hari's on Tour (Express)", an upbeat instrumental, his attempt at a Christmas hit single with "Ding Dong, Ding Dong" and the quirky, supercatchy "It Is 'He' (Jai Sri Krishna)" with lyrics praising Hinduism. It's always great being on tour with Harrison!
Favourie tracks: "Simply Shady" & "It Is 'He' (Jai Sri Krishna)" [First added to this chart: 10/26/2013]

Queen's most prog-oriented album and charmingly fairytale-like. Some day one day, Queen would start producing classic hits, but there's quite a way from those on this album. Still, you get the typical Queen dynamic with hard rockers and delicate ballads. An interesting second album.

Rock 'n' roll with David Bowie. Pretty much him expanding on the sound of "Aladdin Sane" adding some new strange things, mainly some sweet things, I might add.
