Top 100 Greatest Music Albums by liveinacar
I didn't want to have a chart dominated by a handful of artists, so I restricted it to only one entry per band.
Proved very difficult, and I am sure I have left some out in error or left some too far down the list! Still, not a bad first attempt!!
Now I can increase to 50 albums , I have relaxed this rule slightly!

Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some charts can have several thousand ratings)
This chart has a Bayesian average rating of 86.1/100, a mean average of 86.3/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 86.3/100. The standard deviation for this chart is 8.2.

Although I am not nearly so much a fan of punk and postpunk that you obviously are – amply proved by the fact that your chart has zero artists in common with my own – this chart is quite interesting with many bands I recall from the 1990s ‘Rock: The Rough Guide’ but seldom seen here like the Crass (from whom I found the chart), New Model Army, The Exploited, Anti-Nowhere League, D.O.A. and X-Ray Spex.
16 in common with my 70's punk chart.
Great chart - some really good music on here
The rating is based purely on Sex Pistols at 3, I'm not an expert in punk but like the genre
Ah, you relaxed the only one artist rule quite a bit. But it refreshing to see some punk. And reminds me that I forgot Penetration in my own chart.
Seeing Black Sea up so high makes me happy.
Welcome to BEA chap. Never knew there was a punk scene near the Bracknell Forest!! (I'm just over the border to you in Surrey). If you like your punk I'd highly recommend checking out the Punk 45 series of compilations on Soul Jazz (the first two - Kill The Hippies! Kill Yourself! and There Is No Such Thing As Society), and for your inner Andy Partridge have a listen to Please Describe Yourself by Dogs Die In Hot Cars... might be right up your street.
Cool Punk Chart.
