This is one of the most fun albums on this list. It has a wide range of futuristic sounds, that could be from a video game. The album is clearly intent on transporting you to a new dimension/ state of mind. Amazing performances from Santino & many of the guest features.

Amazing electronic record from one of the best artists in the genre. Four Tet has many albums that I love, but this one stands out to me. This album has a variety of sounds but the cohesion of it all really lives up to the name Parallel.

This album is like a narration of my conscience. As an introvert this is one of the most relatable, warm, & soulful records to come out in a long time.

Absolutely enchanted by this album from front to back. Was such a refreshing treat to enjoy this in 2021. A truly remarkable album with so much depth. Nothing else sounds like it

Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. I prefer charts like this that have one album per artist - that canvas and recognise the musical genius across the decades, genres & nations. The comments on some of the album choices are 'gold' and the selections are deep & full of surprises.
I also like it that I have ZERO top 100 albums in common with this chart (not surprising as we are likely to be 2 generations apart in age) - but this chart will be my 'musical education' for the week!

Again stand by my last comment, adore this chart and your little write-ups. I've listened to a lot more stuff since last April however, so can give you a few 60s/70s recommendations that have an ahead-of-their-time quality you might enjoy:

I cringe a bit at your hiphop picks, but at least they’re there. Although I would deem Graduation far from Kanye’s greatest album, the best track on there is indeed ‘Flashing Lights’. Furthermore, your taste looks very Pitchfork, I would have loved to see more personality in your chart (aside from the Japanese picks). But not a bad list at all.
