"Out of all those kinds of people, you got a face with a view. I'm just an animal, looking for a home, share the same space for a minute or two."

The original 9-track album, the one listed on this site, is a pretty OK live album, but the concert film that this is taken from, and the 1999 re-release of the album that contains all of the tracks from the film, is the kind of thing that will make you never be able to appreciate concerts the same way again because nothing will ever be able to compare to the absolute perfection that this is.

"And everybody's got to live their life, and God knows I've got to live mine."

Technically it's a compilation, but it's not really a compilation. Although I prefer The Queen Is Dead, this is the essential Smiths album. Of the tracks that appear on both this and their self-titled, I generally prefer the versions from the self-titled, though I think this album is better because of the songs on it that the self-titled is missing.

Favourite Tracks: Please Please Please Let Me Get What I Want, Heaven Knows I'm Miserable Now, This Charming Man, William It Was Really Nothing, How Soon Is Now?

"I did my best, it wasn't much. I couldn't feel, so I tried to touch. I've told the truth, I didn't come to fool you. And even though it all went wrong, I'll stand before the Lord of Song with nothing on my tongue but Hallelujah."
