"Can't believe how strange it is to be anything at all."
I know, I know, it's a meme and "entry-level" and whatever else you'd like to call it, but there's a reason that this album has the reputation that it does. Some of the most disturbingly surreal yet beautiful lyrics ever written that seem to contain a hidden story beneath them, yet nobody can really agree on what exactly that story is. I'd like to say that the story it tells is whatever story you decide to hear in it.

The Tragically Hip are already underrated on this site, but this album is especially so. How can an album that contains Poets, Something On, Bobcaygeon, Thompson Girl, Fireworks, Escape Is At Hand For The Travellin' Man, and Emperor Penguin be only 5th best by a band that doesn't even have an album in the top 1000? Sure, the other 5 tracks are pretty mediocre filler, but I'd say that 7 tracks that brilliant can make up for them.
