Often classified as "twee", (whatever that means) Belle and Sebastian are late 20th/early 21st century pop craftsmen/women who exceed ALL others who came before them. Their catalog is filled with one masterpiece after another. Genius!
Brilliant artist such a good story as well
I'm not sure what all the fuss is about Belle and Sebastian.
I think this album, the only one I've forked out money for, is OK but not to the level of brilliance and exuberance displayed by the many comments and high ratings. I am not going to publish rhetoric which demeans the album other than to say its not by cup of tea. IMO - average at best.

If You're Feeling Sinister is a truly great album. Most of their other great albums I really like as well and understand the acclaim even if I wouldn't rank them as some of my favorites.

When they go wrong, it's wildly disappointing. When they go right, which is often, it's really REALLY right. Few bands right consistently catchy, consistently smart, and consistently interesting songs and records for nearly twenty years.

If You're Feeling Sinister is my favourite album of all time. Tigermilk is in my top ten. The other tracks I listened to are also really nice. They created some of the best pieces of music I have ever heard.
