I thought that this could have been an epic year for music -- with everyone seemingly putting out music -- but I was generally disappointed (in Fleet Foxes, for example, alt j... the National and Beck are I think past their prime ...) This may have a personal edge, though, as this is the year I developed tinnitus so I literally had to 'tone things down' and alas I am getting older ... older still. But when I look at the year chart on this site, I think this was not a good year.

Excellent, really excellent as you might expect. Will be in the AOTY conversation for sure. A departure... but by a confident master. He tries to make every song one of the best ever, and same goes for albums, amirite?

Highly anticipated, and now getting over my initial disappointment. 3WW is supposedly their personal favourite, but mine is Deadcrush. Adeline and other tracks have some really good alt j moments, too.
