What Do You Want From Live? by Liedzeit

There are some artists who are only worth listening to when they are live. I do not care for John Denver’s studio LPs. But I love him live. Same for Reinhard Mey. Who needs anything by Peter Frampton except his Live recording? Or Status Quo? Or David Essex?
Or Tubes?
With others Live is a nice-to-have addition to their work. The live version of Yesterday is worth buying Wings over America alone.
Elvis singing The Wonder Of You. I want the artists to talk a lot on live records. Like Lou Reed does on Take No Prisoners. Or Paul Anka explaining how he came to write The Longest Day.
With other artists the live recordings are at best an unnecessary addition. At worst embarrassing like Dylan’s Budokan. Here are my favorites.

I saw him live once and have no recollection whatsoever. In fact, I can remember buying the ticket but nothing more. Or was it a dream? [First added to this chart: 01/22/2017]
