It's incomprehensible to me that these songs were written by a teenager. Panda Bear's drumming adds so much to it, too.

One of my bigger music related regrets lately is that I completely missed Avey and Panda's Sung Tongs tour in 2018. They even went around Europe. Some of the songs get a wonderful makeover, Avey out there recreating samples and screaming, crowd getting into it (well at least on this Pitchfork Anniversary performance https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FMPWllOnRjQ )

The other AnCo related regret is that I wasn't aware of their existence back in 2008. They came to fucking Slovenia a couple of months before dropping MPP, playing in a fucking awesome venue, playing a bunch of songs from MPP, "updating" a bunch of older songs (e.g. Who Could Win a Rabbit).
In general what I find amazing with all their live footage from that era (05-09) is how they managed to perform older songs with a newer sound that reflected their current album (Kids on Holiday in Feels era is another fantastic example). Also that they actually always performed a bunch of songs from upcoming albums. It does feel like that "era" of sorts ended with MPP. [First added to this chart: 11/02/2020]

I'm rating this as the "reversed" version. Think AnCo in Sung Tongs era + Kria of mum on the vocals. Beautiful warmest softest music you'll ever hear.

IMO underrated as fuck, the nervous twitchy energy and aesthetics were a step too far towards the overcooked and indecipherable for a lot of people I assume, but this is still filled with beautiful melodies and just all in all excellent songwriting.
