I arrived back in Scotland after living in Iran for a year and a half because my dad was working with the Iranian army. He later had to make a fairly rapid exit when the Shah was overturned by Khomeini. I spent most of my time across there with very few chances to listen to music.

John Peel is responsible for any reggae albums in my collection. Every show had at least one or two reggae track. At first I used to be annoyed by them, but so many of them seeped into my consciousness and remained there as favourites.
