Favorite Song: In My Life

I think this is where the Beatles really start to find their stride. I enjoyed Help, but the difference between Rubber Soul and any of the Beatles albums before this point is night and day. I love the folk-rock. This album was what introduced me to the band and is one I still frequent whenever I crave its sound.

Favorite Song: A Love Supreme, Part 1 Acknowledgment

Perhaps my favorite jazz album aside from maybe something by Charles Mingus? Either way, I can see why John Coltrane is considered one of the best.

Favorite Song: Desolation Row

Highway 61 Revisited takes the best elements of Bringing It All Back Home and improves on it. Throughout Dylan's career, there has been this sort of unhinged and almost prophetic feeling to his music, especially in albums like Bringing it All Back Home and The Freewheelin' Bob Dylan. Highway 61 Revisited dials that up to 100. The whole album is Dylan's ramblings. He creates a fictional world where characters real and fictional are recast and there's something powerful about that. However, as much as I respect the song-craft, I've got to admit that Bob Dylan is sort of like Elvis for me. I respect both artists greatly, but I still have some hangups with their performance/singing style. I appreciate Highway 61 Revisited as a brilliant album, but I think my hangups keep me from embracing it as much as I probably should.

Favorite Song: She's Not There

I love this album! I hear a lot of Beatles influence... maybe more than I'd personally like to see. But this is a debut album with a solid tracklist. And the moments of this album that feel uniquely Zombies are worthwhile.

Favorite Song: Sinnerman

An amazing singer-songwriter album! Honestly, I have no complaints. Nina isn't part of my personal music collection but I can fully see why she might be for others.

Bob Dylan adds rock into his folk. It's a start of a new era that promises to be bigger and better than ever.

Kind of surprised I never heard of this album before now. A lot of these songs have a timeless feel to them.

Favorite Song: (I Can't Get No) Satisfaction

I'm not going to pretend this is a masterpiece, but I really found it refreshing compared to the other albums from the year.

Favorite Song: To Try for The Sun

A really great singer-songwriter album. It captures a similar melancholy feeling that the Bert Jansch album had and I think it does it better than that album does. This album also has a lot of really fun songs too.
