"I listened to this every night for about a year as a kid. Off and on over the last 40 years. Every song seems a classic. It is a fun and though provoking album. Rocky Mountain High and Matthew are the standouts on theis old gem." Reply
"An interesting album. Fun at times, dark at others, sometimes makes you want to cry. Much better than that horrible song 'Lady In Red'. It's like mixture of Gil-Scott & Bob Dylan, leaning towards Gil-Scott." Reply

"Before there was Brittney Spears and Miley Cyrus, there was Janis Ian, a sensation at 16. This album, recorded when she was 24, not only has "At Seventeen", but a bunch of other fine songs." Reply

"Criminally underrated; there is a constant upbeat roar throughout but not with monotony. Songs like 'Can't Stand Your Funk' are reminiscent of modern funk/fusion artists. One of Mahavishnu's more consistent albums, if not the most consistent of them all." Reply

"Prior to listening to this I had heard bad things about Scorpions. Things like they were cheesy, adult rock and could potentially kill you. This was the first album I listened to by these and from the moment Dark Lady had finished playing I knew all such things weren't true. Well... maybe they ar..." [+] Reply

"One of Gil's classics, although not his best (but that's a matter of personal taste). The title track is the most well-known, but Dominguinho's "Lamento Sertanejo" is another memorable moment. "Tenho Sede" would have its definitive version in Gil's wonderful "MTV Unplugged"." Reply
