My Favorite Debuts by RoundTheBend
Some of the artists with the best debuts almost never topped their debut effort, which I find interesting. I'm in NO WAY saying that they got lucky or whatever, but sometimes it is hard to top AMAZING!!!
Still not 100% complete (it's a larger undertaking than I originally realized if I wanted to truly represent all of my favorite debuts because I probably have forgotten them)... but anyway, here's what I have for now based on what I've either recently listened to or spent the time to remember an artists debut.
Also, I've included solo efforts like Eddie Vedder and John Lennon, even though the initial effort was to see what it was like for a budding musician to release their first record... in those instances, both artists were already well into their career.

Showbiz and Blue didn't make my chart! Shit... I done messed up. No seriously, thanks for the catch! hahaha. I must have accidently not marked them as debuts or something on my spreadsheet I was trying to make this on.
Great concept list. The Doors would get my vote in this list. To think that a band could write quite possibly the greatest ever rock-era track (The End) as a young band on their first album is quite astounding. Funeral is a bit over-hyped by millennialist for mine. It's a great album but a bit too over-over-inflated in its production. And whilst I think Pablo Honey is relatively weak for Radiohead, once again it is undervalued due to comparison with their other work. It should be higher. Piper at the Gates and An Awesome Wave are incredible debuts also. And where is Gorillaz? Showbiz by Muse? Weezer's Blue Album? Aphex Twin? Burial? It's a great list you've come up with though.
Go on, please. Good start for a very good theme
Since you stated on your overall chart you liked late 60's music I expected to see at least The Doors, Are You Expierenced and/or Velvet Underground and Nico.
Agree with guigs on this chart being expanded.
Nice picks! You should expamd this chart, it's a nice theme, only the debuts.
