"A good album, not as quite as good as, architecture and morality, but is almost worth the price alone for the absolutely glorious, enola gay, one of the best singles of the early eighties. The rest of the record is fine, but, enola, is the crowning glory."  Reply

"Classically trained Multi-instrumentalist Amanda Brown joined The Go-Betweens for Tallulah, and her skills on violin, oboe, guitar, and keyboards helped usher in the band’s most commercially oriented era. The Go-Betweens benefited from a lusher, more detailed sound – the richly textured 16 Lovers..."  [+]  Reply

"Blazing-teutonic Speed Metal with some fillers in the middle. My favorite is their fastest and hardest song ever written: Fast as a Shark. As a drummer, those kicks in the double bass hit me hard every time I listen to it."  Reply

"Girl Band are the sort of band for which the term “reinvention of the guitar” seems to have been born for. There is some serious guitar-abuse that harks back to the more out-there noise-outs of Sonic Youth and My Bloody Valentine in extremis and then some. I can’t make out a word Dara is singing ..."  [+]  Reply

"What a cool concept. Each album works on it own, and there are 14 different combinations of discs to listen together before you try all four. What an ambitious project. Playing all 4 together actually works. Try it. Get 3 other music nerds, grab some portable players, sit in a room and time out t..."  [+]  Reply

"I'm glad they're focusing more on the psychedelic genre rather than radio hits like Kids or Time to Pretend. This album is very experimental and hard to get into. After a few listens, this is definitely the worst out of the three albums they made. To me, the vocals sound too quiet and blend in wi..."  [+]  Reply

"Tour-de-force performances by (so I say) the best jazz band in the world at the time recorded beautifully, every instrument from bass to ride cymbal perfectly clear and present, so often not the case in live jazz, or studio recordings for that matter. Even the introduction by the legendary Pee We..."  [+]  Reply
