There must be a direct correlation between my lack of ability to frequent record shops/fairs and my lack of activity on BEA of late. Nothing beats a morning of browsing London's record emporiums or a record fair in a town hall. Whilst my bank balance undoubtedly looks a lot healthier (especially after flogging more and more on Discogs of late - just had to go out and get some more parcel tape), the lack of impulse purchases bought because 'it was dirt cheap' or 'the cover looks nice' is beginning to bite a little. So this week I thought 'fuck it, I'm going to have a splurge'. And that I did:
Ordered this a couple of weeks back (reminds me of the first couple of Orbital albums). Good to see Charlie's decided to wax lyrical about it (speaking of which, it sounds pretty ace on the black stuff)
Also picked up a couple of ace compys - Joey Negro and Sean P's Best Of Disco Spectrum (which has Alfredo De La Fe's "Hot To Trot" and Idris Muhammed's "Could Heaven Ever Be Like This" on it - both of which I adore immensely) and Jon Savage's Do You Have The Force, which is a collection of post-punk electronica and disco nuggets. Highly recommend both. _________________ 'Reggae' & t'ing Folk 'n Stuff SHAMELESS RECORD DEALER PLUG
