I don't typically love garage rock, but Dinosaur, Jr. has landed something really fun and energetic here, a grand, chugging album that doesn't let up until the very end.

Dinosaur Jr's third life after a ten year hiatus and Lou Barlow is back. When I first listened to this album it completely blew me away and this is still the case now. This is already clear in the first second of the first track, Almost Ready, which starts in a very electric way.
This album reminds me a bit of Where You Been, their best of their second period but this one is so much better, something I wouldn't have imagined 20 years ago. I'm a big fan of Lou Barlow but in general his contributions get a bit snowed under under the Dinosaur Jr umbrella, but here Back To Your Heart is one of the many highlights. This the best album of the band and to me a real classic.

Their best since Green Mind. They finally captured that energy that encapsulated You're Living All Over Me and Bug after an odd series of distractions in the mid 90s.
The songs may not be great, but this is some Layla/Marquee Moon-level guitar. A relentless attack
another good 00's album from Jr. after their slump in the 90's.
