This "Lord of the Rings-esque" album cover leaves me skeptical, but in the end Farm is clearly a better album than Beyond. Probably their best post-reunion album.
The best Jr. Album since bug. Fabulous.

It's amazing. It's very simple and amazing. Songs like Pieces, Plans, Said the People, make me alive.

Dinosaur Jr. were doing the alternative rock thing way back in the 80s, before the Seattle grunge scene exploded. Guitarist/singer J Mascis is widely credited with re-introducing the guitar solo to indie rock, and there's plenty of nice hooks (and solos!) on Farm. I don't know if it's because it tugs at all the right 90s strings in my heart, but I love this album. They just don't make 'em like this anymore.
