Rating metrics: Help Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)

This album is rated in the top 9% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 74.9/100, a mean average of 73.6/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 75.0/100. The standard deviation for this album is 17.6.

An unhinged, genius tinged highlight of the early-ish era of nu-metal. Even their next album, as mostly good as it is, is fucking tame compared to most of the stuff going on here. Catchy and fun as well as experimental and experimentally mental. Love it.

SCIENCE is Incubus's 3rd best album.

They refined the raw loudness of fungus amungus into coherent songs here but it is still raw in parts which some people prefer.

A Certain Shade of Green and Vitamin are stellar highlights

Nebula stands out. The ballads of a slick groove that separates them from contemporaries ballads of acoustic confessionals. These ballads have a chill party groove feel.

A surprising sophomore effort that gets overlooked. Fungus Amungus for a debut turns off most people other than the die hards and then people skip to their more well known albums that dominated rock radio for a few years.

SCIENCE shouldn't be overlooked as it is the transition album from raw crazy debut into melodic power rock of Make Yourself and Morning View

I saw some influences of trip hop here, and a little bit of Korn & Primus. Really good

I'm not the biggest Incubus fan.
This is a pretty spectacular album though.
Their best imo.

Extremely underrated,
Incubus' best and a very slick, experimental alternative metal album. Mixing various random noises and not sounding like a mess and in fact quite the opposite.
