Rating metrics: Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)

This album has a Bayesian average rating of 69.4/100, a mean average of 67.8/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 69.3/100. The standard deviation for this album is 17.5.

This is probably their 3rd best offering after Antics and TOTBL. Lights and Success in their top 10 songs and try playing along to Barricade, great fun.

A very dark album-and I love it for this. Perhaps when you get past your prejudgement and listen to this album for what it is then you will see the glory.

Just plain boring.
Feels like a burn-out waiting to manifest

Despite there being three or four average tracks, this is still a decent album. Try It On proves they have still got it!

this album is ver confusing. I found myself getting depressed listening to it, and annoyed with the vocals. Definitely not up to par with their 2002 debut

Rather than being one more shot for glory "Interpol" is a more subtle, sombre affair signalling Carlos' exit from the band. By no means easy listening, it is very much their 'difficult' album with the band often sounding like they're playing with one hand behind their back, it is nonetheless a triumph.
