Rating metrics: Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)

This album has a Bayesian average rating of 69.9/100, a mean average of 68.4/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 69.5/100. The standard deviation for this album is 16.3.

Zimmerman's best venture into house music to date. Big hitting dance songs balanced out by more experimental, ambient ones like Soma and brought together fantastically at the end with Strobe.

Certainly easy to see how people find this boring, and they're right to see the album that way. But look past the inevitable repetitiveness of this genre and what you have is one of the best creative explorations of house music ever.

For Lack of a Better Name built on Random Album Title's sound, and features some killer tracks. "FML" & both variation of "Ghosts" are highlights, but the closing track is the album's peak. "Strobe" is the song that mau5 should be best remembered for, as its build is one of the best in music, all of music, taking up most of the tracks considerable length to reach its climax. Great song on a great album.

I can see why some have gotten a little tired of Deadmau5, but this album is definitely proof that he's released some great stuff. Strobe is the defining electronic track of 2009 and definitely one of the best electronic songs of all time.

Start from the track 'bot', close your eyes and imagine you're in a club and everybody's dancing. You'll feel awesome!
I kinda feel like 'ghosts 'n' stuff' ruins it, but that track got me into his music (like when I was 13 or so), so I guess it isn't such a problem.
Best track: 'strobe'... of course.

Not really my favorite album from Deadmau5, but I think "Strobe" is really a beautiful song, and saves it all.

Ghosts n stuff is certainly the stand out track. Nothing special.
