Era of the MP3 and cd burns and consuming more and more music. The internet giving access to any band you read about, so you just downloaded it. It's free right? Still meant putting some effort into downloading and burning CDs or putting on an iPod. Nearly impossible to get to know all the music you have. Non audiophiles start to get rid of CDs (for MP3), who needs those? Me, cheers.

I think it's quite impressive that you've adhered to the one-album-per-artist rule on this decade chart, as it forces you to go deeper into your collection for the last 10 to 20 selections. I did the same for my overall chart, but not my decade charts, mainly because I wanted to be able to show which artists--and not just albums--mattered most to me in a particular decade. In any case, I really enjoyed clicking through this chart. I love Funeral (I know everyone does, but it's for good reason), Yankee Hotel Foxtrot, Sound of Silver, and The Trials of Van Occupanther. I also appreciate The Magnolia Electric Co. as a top ten selection, as Jason Molina was such an extraordinary talent, gone way too soon.
